Winner Carneros Category, 2007 Napa Valley Mustard Festival Photography Contest: Sharon Kain

Visit Napa Valley during the months of February and March, and experience the Napa Valley Mustard Festival's sixteenth annual season of sensational events, January 31 through March 28, 2009. This months long showcase of food, wine, and art celebrates the rich, unique agricultural and cultural bounty of Napa Valley. Fields, vineyards and hillsides vibrant with wild mustard in bloom provide a breathtaking backdrop.

Watch for additional events to be added over the coming months. The calendar will fill in with numerous community and tasting events.

January 2009

Mustard Magic ~ The Grand Opening Event
January 31, 2009 -- 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Mustard Magic, the opulent grand opening event, will launch the season at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena. Don your finest black tie attire for the extravaganza magnifique. The historic three-story stone building sets the stage for dramatic tableau scenes of paintings by European masters celebrating the fine art of food and wine. Entertainment at its finest complements living art and tantalizing tastes from the region's finest restaurants and wineries. This event sports three auctions - The NVMF Visual Art Competition Exhibit & Silent Auction, a Silent Auction, and a Live Auction featuring fantastic winemaker dinners, luxurious trips, art, wine and more!

The World-Wide Mustard Competition Awards Ceremony & Napa Valley Chefs’ Mustard Recipe Competition

Meet world champion mustard makers and taste original mustard recipes by Napa Valley chefs while you enjoy music and Napa Valley vintages at Black Stallion Winery. Vote for your favorite mustard recipe presentations and help select the "People's Choice" Mustard Festival Chef of the Year.

The Marketplace - A Signature Event for Connoisseurs
March 14, 2009 to March 15, 2009 -- 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM - A Signature Event for Connoisseurs!
Showcase of Food, Wine, Mustard, Music & Art - Celebrate the mustard season and taste mustards from around the world at The Marketplace, the Napa Valley Mustard Festival's Signature Event . Mustards and an array of gourmet products will be showcased alongside sensational wine country cuisine, world famous wines, hearty craft brews, and fine arts and crafts. The Marketplace will provide you with the opportunity to explore the best of Napa Valley during the most beautiful time of year in the wine country, when the brilliant gold of mustard in bloom carpets hillsides, valleys and vineyards.

The Mumm Napa Photo Finish ~ The Grand Finale Event
March 28, 2009 -- 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM
View the season's beauty captured by photographers from far and wide at The Mumm Napa Photo Finish, the inevitably sold out and wildly exuberant Napa Valley Mustard Festival grand finale event, to be held at Mumm Napa in Rutherford.

Sample delectable offerings of hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and wine. Enjoy music throughout the winery and gather in the gallery to compare and contrast, compliment, and thoroughly enjoy the multitude of entries in the ever-popular photography contest. Take home a framed photograph to keep glorious visions of brilliant green and gold alive until Mustard Season 2010.
