A Spicy Soirée! Don jewels & black tie or dazzle guests with denim for a glitzy evening of food, wine, music, and dancing at The Awards ~ A Spicy Soirée! on March 14, 7 pm, at the beautiful new Black Stallion Winery on Silverado Trail in Napa. Top off your gown with a rhinestone hat; wear tails and tooled boots; kick up your heals to The California Cowboys' personal brand of country rock at this former equestrian estate were stallions once ruled.
As you taste your way through the most creative mustard recipes of the year, sipping Napa Valley's finest vintages, the critic's choice recipe judging, headed by Gene Burns of KGO NewstalkAM810, will take place behind closed doors. You'll then have the chance to compare your taste buds with those of the professionals as you cast your ballot for The People's Choice Chef of the Year. (The competitors are listed here).
Tip your hat to World Champion Mustard Makers who've come to Napa Valley from around the world to walk the red carpet and receive their Napa Valley Mustard Festival World-Wide Mustard Competition Awards. World Wide Mustard Competition
The deadline for entries was in January, 2008. Mustards are judged in 19 categories from Sweet-Hot to Classic Dijon. The competition is overseen by Barry Levenson, curator of the Mount Horeb Mustard Museum in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Winners will be notified in February. Medals for first, second, and third place in each category will be presented at The Awards. World Wide Mustard Competition > 2008 World Wide Mustard Competition Winners Chefs’ Mustard Recipe Competition As mustard companies receive their World Wide Mustard Competition medals at The Awards, a panel of food journalists will judge the Executive Chef of the Year Mustard Recipe Competitions in a blind tasting session behind closed doors.
