As guests tasted and prepared to vote for their favorite mustard-inspired dishes, judges working behind closed doors in a blind tasting chose Chef Michael Messmer's Tallegio Soufflé with Fruit Mustard for the Critic’s Choice Award. They had their work cut out for them as there were 19 entries to choose from!
Festival sponsors and guests also reaped rewards as they tasted original mustard-inspired dishes presented by the competing chefs. Toward evening’s end, ballots for the People’s Choice Award were counted and Executive Chef Vincent Nattress of Meadowood Napa Valley was elected by event patrons.
