2003 Photography Contest Winners

Napa Valley, CA ~ Cash awards totaling $7000 plus other gifts were presented to sixteen Bay Area photographers at The Mumm Cuvée Napa Photo Finish, the Napa Valley Mustard Festival Grand Finale event, on March 29 at Mumm Cuvée Napa.



Photographs in the contest feature mustard in bloom in Napa County during the mustard season, which occurs from sometime in January through about the end of March each year (depending upon the whim of Mother Nature). The competition includes four main categories: Professional, Innovative, Digitally Enhanced, and Amateur; and three sub-categories: Aerial Balloon, Carneros, and Silverado Trail.



Professional -

Photos in the exhibit, which had 221 entries this year, remained on display at Mumm Cuvée Napa through May 1.

In addition to the Photography Contest and the Mumm Cuvée Napa Photo Finish, the Napa Valley Mustard Festival produces a series of events, which include a Visual Arts Competition, Napa Valley Chefs' Mustard Recipe Competitions, The Napa Valley Mustard Festival World-Wide Mustard Competition, and a number of food, wine and art events, located at a variety of venues throughout Napa Valley. These events take place during the mustard season, when mustard, wildflowers, and fruit trees cover the valley with a brilliant array of color.
